Solved Shortcut icon problem for Connection with Vista X64
I have created a desktop shortcut for my ADSL connection. As can you seen in the first picture, my connection is ADSLInfostrada (Infostrada is my provider). Vista create a shortcut with a generic icon, instead of that with the 2 screens like in second picture.
Rarely the system put the second picture icon, but after a few of minutes, the icon come back to that ugly generic.
Why system change the icon without reasons? I have installed Vista only 2 days ago with all updates.
How can I do in mode that the system always use the second picture icon?

Hello Siegfried, and welcome to Vista Forums.
First test to see if
rebuilding the icon cache may allow it to display properly afterwards.
If not, then you might see if you may be able to manually
change the shortcut icon to the correct one a few times to see if it will display properly afterwards.
If still not, then check to make sure that you create the shortcut directly from the source EXE file and not from another shortcut that could have been moved or deleted.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
