Mouse back button problem

I have tried this with two different Logitech mice, although I do not think this is a Logitech problem. I was hoping someone has experienced this before. I get to use the back or forward button once every time my Vaio laptop restarts. Browser does not matter (Chrome,IE). Actually this problem occurs in control panel etc. I am running Vista 64 bit. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Welcome to VF,

If i understand you correctly the "BACK BUTTON" only work after a reboot and only once it works. Try using the Back space instead and see whether that makes any difference. Also Download and run Malwarebytes and run a complete scan.

Thanks for the suggestions Cap. I run Malware about once a week and the back space button will page back the browser. I should also have mentioned that I have tried Logitech support. They suggested trying the mouse on another machine. It worked on another machine running Vista Home 32 bit. This mouse used to work on this machine also. Don't know what i installed to cause the conflict.
