I had been experiencing some odd flash issues where flash would work when it pleased, so I decided to update. I found that I couldn't update because the file was corrupt. So, I decided that maybe it was my firefox that needed updating first, but one again I couldn't upgrade becasue either the file was corrupt or the certificate was not good (it bounced between the two). I completely uninstalled firefox and flash, and tried to re-install them fresh. Neither would install. I figured it might be my machine and so I just did a complete reformat tonight (it needed it anyway) but the problem STILL persists. I can't even install VLC media player or Daemon tools. They either claim the file is corrupt, the installer integrity check has failed, etc. With VLC I get an NSIS error and have redownloaded the file several tiems and it still isn't working. Something is obviously seriously wrong here and I don't have a clue what it is. I never had problems with this computer or OS. It's a fairly new machine (less than a year old) and is more than capable. 8 gigs RAM, quad core processor, etc. running Vista Home Ultimate 64 bit.
If anyone has any idea what is going on I'd really appreciate it. Without flash for VLC player my computer doesn't really serve much of a purpose to me
