Everything lost in Pictures

Something strange occured on my computer. Within last week everything in MyPictures folder (except link to Sample Pictures) lost somehow. I did not find any traces of my 3000+ photos in Recycle Bin, in neighbouring locations of Windows Explorer tree and even searches of lost (deleted) files with some freeware recovery soft. Could it be some of the recent updates, after what my computer was restarting automatically? Has anyone any clue, where to search or how to avoid such of surprises in the future? I had some backups on external devices, but not all...:huh:

If the pictures were given titles, by you, did you try entering those names in search? If they are still on your hide drive, search will help you find the location.

Tryed. Without any results. Both with Vista Search and Effective File Search. Vista Search took for me eternity....

I am always reluctant to make this type of suggestions. If you decide to use it, make a system restore point first.


I have not tried this product myself and am not familiar with the outcome. Others members have used it without any reported problems.

Why don't you try some of the recovery software that's available, e.g. Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home - http://www.recuva.com/ or Glary Undelete.
