Can't even get to Boot Advanced Options!

System crashed yesterday. On start-up it passes the POST but no farther. When I press F8 to get to Boot Advanced Options, it goes to black screen (no cursor). Please help!

I read the tutorial & searched the Vista forum, but my problem is that I can't even get to a cursor or any prompt to start looking for the .dmp

I somehow managed to get to the startup diagnostics & I got 3 error codes: 0244, 0444 & 1A44. Not sure if that's helpful. Thanks so much for helping this newbie!
