I have an Acer Aspire laptop which the user password was changed and forgotten, also all other accounts were deleted. I am unable to do ANYTHING with this computer now. We bought a new laptop, but want to get the pics and music of the HD. Any ideas on how to get those files, or how to get passed the password? I've tried the password reset disc downloaded online, but didn't work.

Never heard of them. What are they? I looked at the list and have no clue which one to use or how to use it. I wish I could do like I have in the past with towers: Take the hard drive out, plug it into another tower as a slave driver & copy the files over or burn a cd. A friend of mine suggested running a USB cable from one laptop to the other and maybe it would recognize it as removable storage or something like that. Don't think that would work though.

That looks like what I need. My dad's 'puter tech at work said he has a "device" that should work. Maybe it's one of these. If not, I will be buying one of these. Thank you!
