Okay, I've got yet another problem just only days after I've restored my OS and all my data. The thing is that whenever my PC starts up, it automatically starts to disk check even when my PC doesn't need it or I won't want it. And when I want to start the PC in safe mode, the drivers don't load...it ALWAYS stop at something called crc or something like that. It freezes and the Microsoft loading screen stays loading and it won't move anywhere.

Is this PC beyond repair?

Well. I don't seem to have an installation disk with me nor do I have the Startup Repair service available. It's similar to my earlier problem that I had before but this time the PC won't even show me my login screen. The advanced boot screen doesn't show the Repair Your Computer. The OS starts the boot with a disk check and always ends with the disk check freezing..

Without the Vista DVD/CD to repair the file system, and not being able to boot in to safe mode, does make a repair more difficult.
You need to get a Vista disk from somewhere, i don't think you will get this booted without one.

I'm not sure what copy protection they use, so maybe somebody else will have the answer.

Sorry for the extremely old thread bump but I've burned what is supposedly 32 bit version of Vista Recovery disc. It was about 120 MB in the ISO format. For some reason it doesn't seem to work either with safe boot or normal; it has all the same problem from when this thread was started. My PC is the same Lenovo Y430 as before here and in other threads too.

Is your Bios set to boot from the DVD/CD as the first boot device ?.

I'm not completely sure if I know that or not. Can you elaborate more on that please?

I'll try to move it in the Setup if that's what you meant..

as for your question to elaborate...... well all BIOS are different in one way or another so its more for you to try catch the black and white text on initial cold booting

you should 1st check to see: press any key to boot from CD, if that doesnt show then youl have displayed at some point one of the following.... hit esc,del f1 f2 f3 and so on to ether enter boot menu or bios menu
Boot menu will give you a page list to chose which device you want to boot ie. CD Rom
Bios will be more complex.... we can not guide you threw this one as all not all bios lists are the same, however you will be looking for boot device order or something worded similar..... once cd has been set as 1st boot device save and exit from bios and and look close for hit any key to boot from cd

Pay close attention while in BIOS..... settings changed in here can cause your pc to have more problems

Finally the problem is finally fixed! And the VERY good part is that I lost none of the files I imported from the last PC fix..

It feels good to know there are some good people willing to help others to the end.
