Looking to set the permissions of the c:\windows\fonts folder to be wide open for users. However, even as the true administrator on the machine, the Security tab no longer appears (only General and Previous Versions tabs).
Each individual font's properties allow setting of permissions this way, but the Font folder itself does not. This used to work in XP Pro, but it appears that it does not in Vista or W7.
I can (as admin) change the permissions of the registry hive for font changes. There is no policy being forced down by AD that should have any effect on the font folder itself. The machine *is* on a domain, but I've tried this on the domain, off the domain, and as true administrator locally on the machine.
Is there a way to bring back the security tab to the font folder and set the permissions so that anyone can install a font? I do NOT want to increase user levels (i.e. Power Users, etc).
