Deletion

I didn't really want to start a new thread, but I'm too busy to look through to find a matching problem.

I can't get an Icon to delete off of my desktop. The account is a standard account, so when I try to delete the icon, it asks for permission. So I type in the password and it says it deletes it, but it's still there. So I try to delete it from the Administrator account(which is the built in account), but it says I don't have permission to delete it. It's not a big problem, but it's just somewhat annoying.

can you delete it from the desktop folder?
start/username/desktop ... delete from there?
when you open the desktop folder just drag the icon in question to the recycle bin!!

No, it will not work. I just don't know how to get rid of it. I downloaded the program, but when I found out that it was just a trial, I deleted it from the Uninstall a Program list. Somehow, the shortcut didn't go away with the program. The folder will open and display its contents, but none of them work (although most are program extentions, one is the application, and one is a command prompt-type box for the program, which works, but again the application will not work). I scanned it and it doesn't contain any spyware or malware. I just want it gone.

You could also try reinstalling the program, deleting the shortcut and then uninstalling the program, I had success with that before.

Alright, just a quick problem, I have an XOVision E-Matic Mp3 player and I can't get certain stuff to delete off of it. It seems like the stuff might be standard stuff, but some of it is really Large. The sizes rance from 4kB to 84MB, and there's about 80 of them and also there's a folder that won't begone out of it either. Oh, and the mp3 player doesn't work unless plugged into a computer. It used to work until I discovered this junk on it.

is reformatting the mp3 player an option. (that will delete everything!)

plug it in to the pc, go to start > computer > right click on it and choose format...good luck and keep us posted!

just put "restore device defaults"!! Quick format will be fine!
