Saving Files Made in XP in Vista

My computer is on dual boot, Windows XP and Vista,
each in its own hard disk. The file that is made and saved
while in WinXP and opened in Vista for edit can not be saved
while in Vista. A text box appears with this message:

" Cannot create the C:\.........\....... .txt file. Make
sure that the path and file name are correct. "

I click the "OK" button. The "Save As" message
box appears. I click on the "Save" button. Another
message box appears.

" C:\.........\....... .txt " already exists.
Do you want to replace it? "

I click "Yes", and the original message box re-appears.

" Cannot create the C:\.........\....... .txt file. Make
sure that the path and file name are correct. "

Surprisingly, a file made in Vista and opened and edited
in XP can be saved in XP. Also, a file that is stored in the same
hard disk that Vista is located but made while in XP can be
edited and saved in Vista.

When the operating systems I used were Win2000
and WinXP there was no problem like this. Files made
in either OS could be saved in the other.

How do I make files made in XP saveable in Vista?

Thanks in advance for any help.

That is because the file is read only go into the properties and uncheck read only and it should save.

If that doesn't work make sure if its in a folder to do the same.
