Decrypt XP Files on Vista Home Premium

Apologies for any duplicate post.

Using Vista Home Premium

Have a bunch of files that were encrypted on an old XP Professional machine.

Would really like to remove the encryption on these files.

If I right click one of these files then select Properties > General tab > click the Advanced button ....the option "Encrypt Contents to secure files" is greyed out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The link posted was of some help. I will copy the files back to the PC running XP where they were originally encrypted and see if I can decrypt them.
