Trying to OC to 3.20 GHZ. Going any higher than 2.99GHZ in BIOS Causing BSOD's.
I can't overclock my AMD Athlon 5000+ past 3.2GHZ. It'd be nice if I'd be able to do it, I have adequate cooling and just want to see how far I can push this ( as I have technically "Upgraded" to a Quad-Core processor, I just popped this thing back in to see how far I can push it.. )
Some help please

Have you tried increasing the voltage any? Be very careful, you can easily fry your CPU if you set it too high.

I'll need to give that a try then. I'll post back the results. Problem here is, if I get the BSOD, the system automatically resets the clocks. What a PITA. :/

I've finally had the time to screw with it.. I got it to 3.06GHZ.. The temps the motherboard is giving me scares me, but touching the heatsink tells me that its not hot at all..
I ran PRIME95 for 2 hours with no issues. I'm thinking of trying to crank it up even more.
Seriously, took me all day to get it stable. Probably won't get around to a higher OC until next weekend when I am off of work..

Anyone got any tips for increasing the speed any higher than 3.06? I've got adequate coolng and nothing to lose
Seems to be now I push it higher I get BSOD/Hard lockups in Windows.. But this is expected.. 3.06 runs perfectly stable.. If I could get some more out of it, that'd be nice

You could buy a better processor.
If you have increased the voltage as much as you reasonably can, that is the best you can do.

I've got a better processor
Just want to find out how far I can push this one before I permanetly upgrade.
This has been a damned good processor I've had it for a few years and never been able to OC it.
