Menu Appearance

Hi all. Would somebody please tell me how to fix this issue?? As you see I have "Windows Aero" selected and applied, but my menus still show up as I would have "Windows Classic" applied. You can see in this shot that I already pressed "Apply", but the menus didn't change. Dragging windows all over the screen is fine, but this menu is not. How do I fix this? Thank You All

Hello ilyabyk83,
Do you have a picture of what you are hoping to achieve, because it all looks OK to me, Aero is working, you can see that the borders are transparent, you can see your desktop through them.
I'm not aware the menus change when Aero is enabled.
I just checked mine and its the same as yours, and as far as i know, i don't have a problem.

are you sure it's not on? I think the only thing it does is lets the background come through the edges of an open window...
go back to the same picture as your screenshot, and choose basic and apply, see the difference?
after looking at yours I thought mine wasn't enabled until I seen what basic looked like!

good luck, if i'm wrong please post back. (because mine aint working either then)

**EDIT** I had that window open so long stoney done replied, and we said about the same thing!!

Pretty sure "Menu Transparency" never existed. I've never seen it, unless by a third party App. Mine aren't transparent.

Windows aero is on.
Also click on window color and appearance and ensure Enable Transparancy is enabled. (it looks like it is by your screen shot).

Simply put, the pic is showing exactly what everyone else's looks like. Transparency on the window and not on the "right click menu". It is correct. Aero doesn't effect the menu, there will not be any transparency on it.

Then I'm using wrong terminology, sorry. I want my "Left-Click" menu to be AERO style also, not Windows Basic as it is now.

Ok, so here's mine. I don't see any difference. This is the way Aero is supposed to look as far as I know. Can't change the look of the menu's.
Only difference in that I changed my fonts.

That's odd. I just played around with something and noticed that the menu fonts don't seem to be affected by changing between clear type/standard under the effects tab. Everything else changes (fonts all over the place change, just not in my menu's). What do you have it set at under the effects settings? Standard or clear type?

I switched from the modified fonts back to the default Aero theme, and noticed this.
But, my menu looks like what you are trying to achieve. But it looks like that no matter what for me. Strange. Does Aero override certain things like this? Does anyone know?

BTW....my bad, I totally misunderstood what you were asking. Sorry for seeming like a dumb***. lol.

This is my menu under Aero at the moment.

No problem. But your shot is what I'm trying to achieve, same as it looks like in your shot.

I assume you are trying to get the crisp, sharp, smooth look of it right?
I can't figure it out, i've tried everything to get to what yours looks like and nothing changes. I also notice that yours has dark,black dividers, as where normally, they're somewhat light colored,beveled dividers. I can't get them either. I've tried everything,lol.

But I had it just fine before. My menus and transparency (or whatever it’s called) worked just fine.
