Hey ppl!
Appreciate all help and tips offered
I'm Steve and new to real know how of PC systems. I do know a fair bit and good with installations etc etc so I really don't mind being treated as a newbie but an absolute Virgin Mary.
Now the question is...
I have an external hard drive/media player of which I have taken apart and removed the hard drive from within and connected into my PC in place of my DVD drive.
This is all working absolutely fine but I have no SATA data ports left on my mother board to reconnect my DVD drive.
Can I buy a splitter and extra cable? Will it work as normal with this hard drive and original DVD drive?
Also I have removed another DVD drive from an old PC of which I would like to install and run along side both hard drives and resident DVD drive. This connection is a conventional/old skool ribbon connection. I am happy that it can be connected with data and power easily but the problem I face is will it run along side everything else? Would I need some sort of software where I can run both DVD drives at once?
Thanks ppl and I look forward to getting these problems solved and I apologise about the essay you have just read!
