Solved Computer wakes up from sleep when using wireless

Hi guys
My laptop has the same problem. I think it's something to do with the internet because when switch my wireless off it's going to sleep like it should be. If I'm connected to the university wireless it's waking up immediately. The same if I'm using the LAN cable. I suppose you guys will know what exactly causes it to wake up and tell me what to do so it wont be necessary always to switch wireless off when I want to put it to sleep.

Hello Pafkata, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Double check your network adapters (LAN and wireless) in Device Mangager under their "Power Management" properties tab, to make sure that it is not "Allowed to wake computer". This is the usuall cause of this type of thing. You can see more details on this in the STEP SIX section of the tutorial below if needed.

I've already checked the "Power Management" tab and "Allowed to wake computer" was unchecked for both LAN and Wireless. But now I saw that I should check the "advanced" tab as well. I set the value of "Wake-up capabilities" to "none". That should solve the problem. Tomorrow or on Monday I'll be at the university and I'll test it. Thanks Brink!
