Disc boot issue x64

Hi everyone.

I have a boot issue since I got a Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ, I have a black screen the first 30 second on startup, that is until I get to the login screen.

I tried hitting the F11-F12 keys but I still just get a regular startup instead of boot from disc.

How do I get to boot from the vista disc and what is wrong with my monitor, it can't be right it has to stand around and blink for 30 seconds..?

trying to format my computer because C: was suddently on 1GB free hdd space with a total of 50GB, even though I only have windows, drivers and a few minor programs installed here.
All of a sudden I have 10GB of free hdd space and my computer runs horrible now, crash in games and generally loads slow while almost crashing.

I heard of a virus that downloads kiddy porn to your computer in places nearly impossible to find and im not at all any expert with my computer so I really hope there is someone out there who can help me fix this.

If you have not already formated your computer, then you can change the time to zero in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below by unchecking the box for Time to Display the List of Operating Systems at Boot.

However, from your second post, it sounds like you need to do a clean reinstall of Vista.

Try tapping another key like the spacebar instead when you see the "Press a key to boot from CD/DVD" at boot. You will only see it for 8 seconds to press a key before it continues with a normal startup. If you do not see this, then check you BIOS settings to make sure that you have the CD/DVD drive listed first in the boot priority list with the Vista hard drive second.


You might see if doing a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before this problem started to see if it may be able to fix it before doing a clean reinstall of Vista though.

Okay Brink. Thank you for all the help I will try and if I can't get it to work I will destroy my hdd and buy a new one that should do the trick :D
