Excess Magnification on Screen

I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment Laptop with an AMD Turion dual core, 64x2, 3GB Ram, running Vista Home Premium. I have the administrator account and 3 user accounts. On one of these accounts the screen resolution is such that I can only view the upper portion of what's on the screen. I can't see the lower half of the screen that has the control slider to correct the resolution.

Does anyone have any ideas or expertise to provide to help me correct this problem? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well when I had to reinstall Vista Home Premium on my laptop I had the same problem but after I downloaded the correct graphics driver, everything was back to normal, maybe that's the problem?

Graphics driver is one possible cause. Resolution is another. Did you try to change the resolution? - right click on the desktop > Personalize > display settings.

Hello haplyss,

In addition, you might double check your DPI settings to make sure it is set at the default 96 DPI. If it is to large to set, then you may need to boot into Safe Mode to change the DPI setting from there instead.

Since you say this is only happening in one account though, you might check to make sure that Magnifier is not turned on in that account causing everything to appear large.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
