I am trying to build a very cheap gaming rig (under $100NZD)
By buying parts off ebay. first off is this possible?
and what do you think of this case...

I think you left a zero off the amount you want to spend.
A cheap gaming rig for 100$, unless PC parts are very cheap in NZ, then the answer is no.
Thats not to say you cant build a PC for 100$, it just wont be any good for gaming.
As for the case, How much is it, and does it come with a power supply ?.

your never gonna do it on that budget, even using Ebay (i build all my rigs from here for pennies :)), you say you just bought a 2.4ghz CPU for $2, how well do you think that's gonna handle games..??

you can build a rig for $100 out of used parts on Ebay, that goes without saying, but the word ''gaming'' will never be associated with it :p

i would say 700 nzd for a medium gaming rig, sam. you need to be careful to get parts that are as good as eachother as the rig would nottleneck.
