Strange Windows Startup Error

I turned on my pc and the first "dell inspiron" bar went up and then it just went black, nothing happened for 10 mins.

I held down the power button until it went off. and tryed again

This time i got an error message about a hardware error and was instructed to insert the dvd and repair windows.

Before i even found the dvd the screen went black and vista booted as normal.

Any Ideas as to what happened? My computer seems to be working fine now and i am using it to post this.

Could have been a driver issue, take a look at the Events Log.
It may also be a good thing to run a system file check and repair.
