When I start up my laptop I receive the error that my directory\program files is corrupt and unreadable. I am directed to run the Chkdsk utility. I cannot run this utility. When I try i am told that I do not have authority to run it although I am the only user on this computer. If I try to run it as a scheduled mainenance it does not run. Any one have this problem and how did you fix it?
You might see if doing a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before this error may be able to fix it for you. If not, then you may need to reinstall Vista.
