PLEASE HELP! pulling hair out

ok so i viewed the posted on the exefix for vista.. i canot get it to merge keeps giving me the file does not have program associated ... how do i manually add this to registry... can any1 walk me through it... i dont have alot of tech knowledge. and im about to either pull my hair out .. or throw my computer out the window... can any1 please help me fix this problem...

Hello s10extreme, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like your .reg files have the wrong association set to them as well. In Default Programs, double check to make sure that the .reg file extension is set to have the "Current Default" program set as Registry Editor (C:\Windows\regedit.exe).

Afterwards, try merging the exefix.reg file again.

K im still a little confused.... when i open the regedit and it pulls up the box with all the folders in... which folder do i drag that file into

You don't.

Click on this Default Programs link instead, and follow the rest of the instructions above to set .reg files back to being opened by regedit.exe instead. After finishing this, then run the exefix.reg.
