Got a new laptop today and turned it on and started to install Vista and then as I was also putting my xbox back on to my table next the the laptop the extension cord for the laptop came out and it turned off. Now it wont install and keeps on repeating the same error message that I should restart and when I do the error box pops up again.

Best idea is probably to reinstall from scratch. OS installs shouldn't encounter problems. Were you installing from an empty hard drive? When I had to install on an empty hard disk, I had to install XP first, and then install Vista from within XP. (I don't think the Vista disc can boot itself, I had the Anytime Upgrade Disc)

I don't have any disks as the laptop didn't come with any. There is nothing on the HDD ; its brand new. Error message says something along the lines of:

" This computer unexpectedly restarted. Windows cannot complete install at this time. Restart the computer and restart the install. "

I do. It pops up again and restart and the cycle repeats.
