USB-Hub making windows slower?

Hey. I have been using a USB-hub for my 3 external harddrives the last couple of months:devil: I have vista home premium x64. I just found out I didn't need the hub cause I have enough usb-ports in my computer, so I disconnected the hub and placed all the three external harddrives in three different usb-ports. Now my system is running faster and the computer has stopped working all the time as it did before. You think the hub was making the system slower? :sarc:
