Wipe computer from Vista to XP help!

Ok i already backed up all of my files i need and i am ready to wipe it and install but when i put my windows xp disk in it says click any button to boot from disk and i click a button. At one point it says it can not continue because it can not find any drives and i cant install xp. I dont know why it cant find any of my drives. Anyone know whats wrong?

Put the disk in the drive, close the autorun, reboot, and then try it. Don't bother switching though, 7 is coming. What are your hardware specs?
