I need to copy uncorrupted, original files from my source disk that I "mounted" on the recovery partition, to the hard drive. Normally this would not be a problem, but apparently, the only person that has access to this is SYSTEM and Bill Gates.
I am trying to repair settings.ini in C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar as well as tcpmon.ini in C:\Windows, but of course, I do not have security clearance, even as an admin.
This is on Vista Home Premium 32bit run as Administrators privileges, as well as TrustedInstaller privileges.
I have attempted...
1. Right click folder, properties
2. Security Tab
3. Edit
4. Give myself Full Control
But Vista is stupid in this sense and will not allow me to do so.
TIA
