Striker 2 extreme won't boot

Hey guys, I'm writing this being very down. I just got all of my new stuff for new build and finished it. striker 2 extreme, q9550, 4gb ddr3 ram, old 9800gtx plus, pc power and cooling 750w (old as well). Now I tried to turn on the pc (exciting moment). But it didn't do anything.. When I swithced on the PSU, the ROG logo and the power on or off and reset button, located on the mobo itself, and also the supreme fx2 logo started flickering, like intervals of one second. When I push my front panel power on button: nothing, the flickering just continues, no fans illuminating, nothing. When I try the power one button located on the mobo: nothing, same: those lights mentioned before keep flickering but no booting from the system. Now is there something I could've missed or so? Cause this sucks...

Have you verified the p/s is good? Also the video card? These were the only two "used" items. I'm leaning more toward the p/s, as you had flickering as soon as this was turned on. Are there jumper settings on the mobo you need to verify? Is the power voltage set correctly? Triple check the configuration.

I ran my old pc with it and I shut that down for final time about 2 hours before I tried booting the new system. So I don't think its the psu..

If you pull out the video card, does it get any further (obviously you won't see it on monitor). Same with memory. Pull that. Did you check triple check mobo documentation with regard to config?

Okay, nothing changes when i pull ram nor when i pull gpu nor when i pull both. Dwarf, the pc doesn't startup, so I get nothing on the lcd display: none of the fans work, all I get as a response (and that's if i switch on thepsu on the back) is this lighting. So when I hit th power button nothing happens. If I leave the psu swithed on ( in the back), the flickering continues until I turn it off... This is very weird to me indeed...

Disconnect ALL drives and remove all but 1 stick of RAM. Check that your graphics card is correctly installed and that all power and front panel connections are correctly orientated according to the manual. Do you get any further? If you do, try adding components one at a time, starting with the RAM and then moving on to your drives. If it ceases to power up after connecting a component, verify by disconnecting that component and trying again.

I know it worked recently, but could you still test another p/s on your computer? Could the board be shorting???? Maybe take the mobo out and reseat it. To have that problem with just the p/s on and not the computer power switch, it sound like it's not a memory or video card issue. PS, mobo, shorting, or mobo config.

Is the powersupply a 20 or 24 pin connector? Did you hook it up correctly? Does the PSU match the type needed by the mobo? Is it powerful enough?

24-pin and it certainly matches. Now, I feel soo stupid for not thinking about this before, but the PSU is from Belgium and the mobo and cpu and ram I bought from newegg.. Could this be a problem as in wattage/voltage?:s Because I think I can change the output from the psu.. From the wall, I get 220V, in USA it's 110V, no?

The very first question I asked you was if your power setting was correct. Yes, 110 in the United States.

I tested the psu on old motherboard and it worked fine. I don't have another psu, just a 6 year old one with 20 pin ATX. I think it's the Europe -- USA thingy...

Sometimes there is a switch on the psu to change 110/220. If not - and I'm showing my ignorance - can you use a step up/step down converter? Of course if you bought one, you might as well buy the correct ps instead.

Yes, I think there will be, on the back of the psu it says 100-220 VAC.. So I emailed PC Power and cooling support and awaiting reply. Thanks for the help so far, I'll see whether they come up with anything and I'll let you all know. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to ask my uncle in the usa to bring me a psu next time he comes to Belgium...

No the voltage for pc components is the same worlwide , as long as your psu is set to 220v the components will be getting the correct voltage , set it to 110 and it'll blow up , that setting is for the INPUT voltage only , set it to your countrys degfault single phase voltage which is 230v

Lemur, didn't you see what archie wrote..? And besides, the guy from PC Power and Cooling says that my psu switches bewteen 90 and 240 volts automatically, depending on the country I'm in...
