Vista 64 Crashing problems

Hi,

I bought my pc about a year and half ago. Had an x86 Vista Ultimate edition on it and it all worked fine. 4 GB RAM and a good CPU made it run smooth.
I then decided to upgrade my RAM to 8 GB and also upgraded my Windows with it to an x64 Vista Ultimate.
Ever since I upgraded, my pc has been crashing like mad. When I play games my pc crashes constantly in a timeframe ranging from 20mins to 2 hours. I freezes completely and it ends up in me having to force hard reset my pc.
I don't know what the problem is atm and in all fairness it's driving me mad.
Sometimes I boot my pc, I check mails and whoops, frozen and have to reboot.

Is it possible that there's a compatibility problem with the RAM and my x64 Vista?

more than likely it is the memory, run the built in memory tester for vista and see if it passes. when it freezes are you getting a blue screen error message? you need to disable restart on errrors and look what error message you are getting to help fix it

Diagnostics passed ok.
When my system freezes, I get no error what so ever.
Sometimes it reboots out of it's accord. Other times it doesn't and I have to hit the reset button.

Just for the heck of it, can you reinstall your old memory?
If it still screws up, then most likely it's a driver issue.
sfc /scannow
look at Device Manager for errors
look at error logs
