Dont have permission to servicing folder

I've been having a problem with windows update not working and I have traced the problem back to Avast (i think) removing Trustedinstaller.exe. I have got a copy of this file but when I try to move/copy it back into the c:\windows\servicing folder i get a message: Destination folder access denied - You need permission to perform this action.

How can I fix this. It's driving me mad. :mad:

If you used your browser, will the updates still not work?
windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Also, you cannot reinstall Avast (instead of copy/move)?

Have you checked folder properties to make sure it's not read only?

could you right click the folder and tell us who the owner is of that folder?
