Three days ago I decided to run Chkdsk on my main hard drive. I first scheduled a disk check and rebooted the computer. After the loading aurora I was presented with a blank screen without the normal text readings. Nothing changed after leaving the computer for an hour. I then rebooted and tried all the advanced boot options to no effect. In safe mode, drivers and libraries would begin to load, but everything would soon freeze at the libraries having to do with the hard disk (cannot remember exact names.)
I eventually gave up and did a clean install seeing as how I was planning one anyway to attempt several tweaks later in the week. However I still am wondering what could have caused the problem.
