Recently I am receving a popup warning that a given device "could run faster" if plugged in to another USB port. I only have two external ports and have been using the same devices since day 1; Logitech receiver and iPhone cable. The only recent changes hardware wise is Dell installed a new motherboard.

I have uninstalled the two USB composite devices and reinstalled them, no luck. I have check for updates and non are found.

I am aware of this "Fix" but it really does not answer why all of the sudden. I have had this system almost 3 years and this is the first time I am getting this.

Hello Grayhair,
It's not so much a fix, more of a work around, good idea though.
When you say you un-installed and re-installed the USB devices, how did you do that ?.
When Dell replaced the MB, did they fit the same model board and/or with the same version of Bios as you had before ?.
Has this only started since the new MB ?.

Hello Grayhair,

I would not say it is a workaround either, more like turning the radio up loud in your car to block out the noise.

When you say you un-installed and re-installed the USB devices, how did you do that ?.

I went through the device manager.

When Dell replaced the MB, did they fit the same model board and/or with the same version of Bios as you had before ?.
Has this only started since the new MB ?.

Yes everything is the same. It did start since the new MB but not right away. It's been about a 6 weeks.

Is there an option in your Bios for the configuration of Plug and Play (PnP) devices ?.
Also maybe a system restore to a point before this started may fix it.
Was the OS re-installed after the new MB was fitted ?.
