Recently my HHD crashed on my HP a6110n Desktop and I had to replace it. Since I did not have recovery disks, I ordered them on the HP website. So far I have been unsuccessful in recovering my system to factory condition. The computer will boot up until the Recovery Image window, I then make my selection to restore the system but the program will remain at 0% progress and will not progress. Hp tech support informed me that I had to purchase the drive direct fom them in order for the recovery CDs to work or purchase a new OS for the new drive.
Another tech person informed that I have to install the same capacity HDD that came with the system for the CDs to work.???? I do not agree with these recommendations.
Can anyone give some advice on how to fix the problem?
