A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c000000d. The machine must now be restarted.
HW: HP Compaq dv7900
SW: Windows Vista 32-Bit
Source: Wininit
Event ID: 1015
Level: Error
Faulting application lsass.exe, version 6.0.6001.18272, timeshamp 0x4a364556, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, timestamp 0x4889d619, exception code 0xc000000d, fault ofset 0x00008aa0, process id 0x248, application start time 0x1ca2592f07510b6.
Source: Application Error
Event ID: 1000
Level: Error
User logs in to their system and after a few moments waiting for the services to finish running, a window will popup telling them to save their data and that their system will log them off. If you click on anything the system shuts down immediately. No BSOD, just reboots.
I found file "MSVCR80.dll" to relate to the ATI video card drivers, so I uninstalled them from Device Manager and rebooted. The user works fine with the generic driver, but is being bombarded with statements to upgrade to latest ATI driver. If we reinstall the ATI driver or HP driver provided by the manufacturer the shutdown process continues.
Any ideas?
