Solved Computer delay in shutting down

I have a Vista 64 system and everything works just fine, problem is when I shut down the computer Vista will shut down and the computer will keep running for 10 to 15 min before it shuts down.
Running AMD 4000 cpu
4000 MB ram
Vista 64bit
Radeon x1650 pro video card

I know that none of the programs in the computer are running during this shut down. It's almost like something in Vista forgot to tell the hard ware to quit.
One other thing, I can change the hard drive with to one with windows xp on it and this computer will shut down just like it is suppose to.
Any Ideas??????

Some Av programs can be set to scan before shutting down ..

Did you accidentally set it ....by any chance ...?

(BTW...Jmh has a good link ...to speed-up on shutting down..)

Thanks to JMH all is right with the world now, Thanks again the link and information worked great. I used the one for 2 seconds, I've never had a computer shut down that fast.
