STILL Unable to delete registry keys.

So you entered Safe Mode, ran regedit, found the three keys, and they wouldn't delete?

What happens specifically when you try?
Do you get a popup describing the problem or error?
Any additional info about the situation would be helpful.

This seems to be a known issue with ESET.
Maybe give Revo a try. It's freeware.

This is a quote from Flavius. 11-23-2008

Downoload PsTools
Unpack file psexec.exe and place it in C:\Windows\System32

next run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on it as admin if you use UAC) and in cmd.exe type:

psexec -s -i -d regedit.exe

-this command allow you run regedit.exe from a SYSTEM account (not from your account) so remember if you want remove any key the owner of this key should be SYSTEM now and full control for him for this key also.
(see PsTools describe)

lol... it didnt work.

couple things i should mention.

i extracted all the files in that zip to windows/system32
one file was asking to be overwritten (pdh.dll) i cancelled the overwrite.

i opened CMD with admin and it started me on "C:/Windows/System32" but thats supposed to happen that way right?

anyhow, i put in that command you told me, it opened regedit and i tried to delete, same error.

also is this "Registry keys that I can't delete can't take control of etc." supposed to be a link?

My Computer

Not a Link, look at the bottom of the page. It's a link down there.
Click on that link, and read the post by Flavius.

Did you download Pstools before using that command?

OK. I guess try Revo, if you haven't already.

Let us know how things progress.

Best of luck.

giving it a try now, il let you know how it works

im seriously about to give up.
i ran the software. followed the guide.
When it started up, i clicked on "Software" and it opened up the registry page, i found the ESET keys i wanted to delete. i right clicked, deleted subfolders, exit/saved

started up vista, check the registry, its still there, and still doesnt want to be deleted, but it looks like there are less keys than before? but there are still some left

ya know.. i dont know why but, i uninstalled ESET and reinstalled it, and it worked!

the keys were still locked beforehand, but it seems to be working now!

thanks for all the help

My Computer

Might also try uninstalling Nod32 and use crap cleaner to delete the registry keys. Then reinstall and upgrade.
