Is my core temp too hot?

I just downloaded Speedfan to check out my core temperature. I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 and it's average temperature is around 60º C. Is this too warm?

Hello shortmantuff,
These average temps, are they at idle or load ?.
I'm guessing idle or light load, if thats the case then they are not too bad, you also have to take in to account the ambient temp.
If you are concerned about them, give the fans and case a spring clean, it's surprising how much lower you can get your temps with a good clean out.
The thing with a laptop is they always feel hotter than they are, my kids laptop feels like you could fry an egg on it but when i check it it's OK.

If it really just bothers you, like resting your hand by the air vent of the laptop, you can always go to some kind of electronics store and buy a 20$ usb laptop cooler that sits right under the laptop and blows cold air into the intake vent to help with temperatures.

Yeah. I tried giving it a clean, but my laptop is dumb and I have to take off the whole outer layer to clean the fan. Had to unscrew 15 screws, and still couldn't figure out how to get to my fan. So I just cleaned the outside real good. Don't think that will help with the temp though.

anything under 70 degrees for a laptop is considered as perfect , laptops are a differant animal when it comes to cooling , the chips are designed to run much much hotter , at the expense of some performance due to the differant architecture

so id say all is well :)

just as a check against speedfan (i hate it) try Real temp as a comparison (im not saying speedfan is out)

Although 60C is within the norm for a laptop, you might want to consider a chillpad like the ones on this link: ( BestBuy.com - Search Results ).

Another good idea is to install the Core Temp program: ( Core Temp ). If you minimize the Core Temp window, the temperatures will constantly show up in the notification area next to the clock.

I downloaded Core Temp. Its saying its around high 50's.

You could download five different temp checkers and get five different temps, it all depends how they interact with the sensor, use them as a guide and you wont go wrong.
Take the highest and the lowest, and go for somewhere in the middle.
Good temp on that one though, and now you know your temps are fine.
