I'm sure this is unlikely but let me ask you guys.

I'm selling my guitars, amp and pedals and will have $500-$600USD to spend, what laptop would you buy?

I'm partial to gateway because I can get the reinstall DVD's from them.

I want it to have:

HDMI
number pad on right
modem
DVD writer
4 USB ports
card reader
ethernet connection
at least dual 2.2ghz cpu

AND ability to upgrade to windows 7 for free


I know I'm dreaming:cry: or should I use the money for food

Lenovo is my choice - but dunno if they have anything in that price range.
Asus is my next choice, followed by Toshiba.
In the US, Gateway is no longer providing recovery CD's. The only major manufacturers that still do this (that I know of) are Lenovo, Asus, and Dell

All should have the Win7 upgrade privileges - but you can check the manufacturer's website to be sure.

I would get an Acer as well.. I have 2 in my household and they have held up great. With Acers, they dont come with recovery discs, but built in programs to create them yourself..

Gateway, Emachines and Acer are all the same company btw.. Acer's are the best of the 3 though

personally i would NOT get a gateway, i have a gateway. and if you hiberrnate it twice in a row. the computer will shut down after 40-60 minutes of use. and you can not shut it down w.o unplugging it. its a bios issue that has never been fixed.

get an HP. i heard some has bluetooth connectivity? 0.o

I would not buy an acer. My first one broke straight away. It would turn off after a random ammount of time.

all stuff is about 10yrs old:shock: mint cond the local porn shop has given a good offer of $750 for all the stuff

You can get it from walmart for like 898 or something like that.
