way to get new posts in a category or board?

Is there a way to get new post just from a particular forum? Say, if I wanted to only see the new posts in Tutorials or Software or whatever?

Hello Miles,

Sure you can. After you open a forum (Ex: Software), click on Forum Tools (Category Tools in Tutorial section) on the toolbar and on Subscribe to this Forum. You will then receive email notifications on all new posts in that forum.

Hi Brink. Hmmm, I guess if you go inside the forum the newest post are on top. Somehow it feels like it would be useful to have a New Posts button that let you include/exclude forums. Instead of sifting through forums in the list that aren't of interest. But I guess it's hard-wired into board software? (I've never used forum sw from the Admin end so I'm not sure how flexible it is.)

Maybe I'm the only one that sort of browses around without thinking though. I do a lot of stuff that way(now there's a good straight line!)

You should already have the option to exclude forums from new posts, check the bottom of the page here - http://www.vistax64.com/profile.php?do=editoptions

If you don't have the option let me know and I will check the usergroup permissions on the mod.

Thanks. That's definitely a help.

A good wrinkle would be if you could sort the results by column though. That way, as example, all the new Tutorials posts would be grouped, avoiding paging through results.
