boot hangs on usb autodetection

My computer hangs when booting up during the "Autodetecting USB Mass Storage Devices
Device #01: Generic USB CF Reader
Device #02:"
It hangs after showing this for 8 full minutes, then "Multiple Flash" shows up after the "Device #02:" and hangs there for another 2 minutes, then a black screen shows up and hangs for 4 more minutes and then the vista user screen comes up and there are no more problems. I have just been leaving the computer on constantly because I can't wait for 15 minutes everyday to boot-up. I would like to find a solution.

I have run full hardware diagnostics and everything passes. I have tried to change the inf file in the registry and nothing works.

have you tried to update your drivers?

and what is the device? what type of storage device is it? is it your HDD or what?

I have updated all drivers with no solution. The device is a USB Mass Storage device. The only usb devices I have plugged in are my printer and my wireless IR mouse and keyboard device.
