How do I change amount of memory Vista sees?

I was debugging a problem long ago and I had (somehow through Vista) told it to only load X amount of memory (2813 in this case). I don't remember where the option box is now to change it back :(. The option was just a textbox that let you put in ____ MB of memory that Vista would "see" on reboot.

Edit: After further speculation, I don't think this is the problem. I'm running Vista x64, and have 4GB of DDR2. My Video Card is reporting using 1151 MB, could that be the culprit? Should Task Manager still report the correct total amount of memory and just mark the video card memory as "used"?

Edit2: Bah...it was what I originally thought it was...ignore this please :)

I did the same thing sometime back, was debugging a program and manualy changed the memory from 8 GB to 3 GB. However, I have checked and unchecked the box in the MSconfig as you suggested but to no avail, now the max memory the box will accept is 4096. There have been no changes to the OS. I don't think this is the place I changed it. Seems like there was another place.
Any ideas?
Windows Vista X64 on a Dell Studio 1555, 8GB RAM

Hello Cspence, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might double check your BIOS settings to see if you have a "Memory Mapping" type option that should be enabled.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
