Vista shows percent but not time remaining.WHY? and how can it be fixed?

I have a HP Pavilion DV4Z notebook and vista will not show the time remaining as it did on xp, it only shows percent left, ive tried using third party apps like ones for the sidebar and others that run indepedently, is there any way that this can be fixed, like through a patch or driver updates? all suggestions are greatly appreciated. I want to be able to look at the battery meter and see how long i have (HH:MM) rather than the percentage.

What is showing percent and not time left ?

When I did the SP2 upgrade, I saw only percent left. I just waited for it to finish.

The percent left is showing i want it to show how much time is remaining like in HH:MM form like 2h15m not the percentage remaining

The only way it will show the remaining battery time is if you get the direct HP software to run it. If XP came on the pc from HP then it was in the HP programs that where integrated into windows and the hardware for a time remaining function. I have a DV7 and it doesnt have it either. On average if you have a new pc with like a 6 Cell Lithium...on high performance you should get at least an hour. I get about 2 with a 8 Cell Lithium under heavy usage.

Try contactly HP customer support and see if there is a supported app for your pc. IF there isnt...there isnt much left except to run a full battery test to see how long it would last and work from there.
