Is that any help? It refers to .net framework 3.0 as having to be installed and then in Windows Features the XPS viewer needs to be turned on (that may be all you need to do). There's also a link to a standalone download of the viewer.

I have the XPS viewer and in Windows Features, the XPS viewer in the framework3.0 is ticked, but microsoft still doesn't appear in the manufacturers list.
I even tried using the Windows Update button provided, but microsoft still doesn't appear in the manufacturers.
Are there other ways to make microsoft appear in the manufacturers list?
1. Go to add a printer.
2. When you get to the manufacturers screen, choose "Have Disk".
3. Click "Browse".
4. Find the Folder in "C:/windows/syytem32/spool/tools/Microsoft XPS Document Writer", the setup is in there.
5. Click on the setup and click "OK".
6. Click on OK again, and Microsoft XPS Document Writer will appear again! Then you can install it.
