HP Mini-note 2133 vista 32 bit -Actual Startup White Screen

Hey guys,

Not sure if my lcd is toast, but when i turn on my Hp mini-note 2133 it just lights up with a white screen. I can hear it loading and vista starting but just a white screen, it dims and everything and lights up when loading..

Here's the thing, i had no problems or any hints that it was dying...

I can plug a monitor into it and press the FN key and the screen key, this then loads a perfect image without the white screen onto my monitor and i can continue my work.

I would like confirmation that its the screen as to replace it could be quite costly.. Hopefully its just software lol...


anyways help would be very handy :D

so if you plug in a external monitor you get a display?

also have you tried to update your video drivers?

have you talked to HP?

they might have a easy fix for it.

Have you tried to boot into safe mode?
Does it do the same when trying to get into the bios?
Try changing the power options.
If it is white in the bios then there is a hardware problem, how old is your laptop?
If it is out of warrenty then look here if you do not mind playing with electronics.

This is just one website that I have found.
If it is in warrenty and the screen is broken then take it back for repair.

yes it starts up with a white screen. straight from bios. i beleive the screen is dead as the computer hasnt been pulled apart or anything. So the cable shouldnt be loose. but just to be sure, ill check it today. :)
