Solved Delete Desktop Icons

Hi,
I have 2 desktop items that I no longer want on the desktop.
So I tried to delete them but I get the message:
Could not find this item. Is no longer in C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop
Verify the location?

Does anyone know why this is?
And how can I fix it?

Right click on it and try and make a .zip file out of it and it should be able to be deleted after that.

Hello Rip,

If refreshing (F5) the desktop or restarting the computer doesn't get rid of these ghost files, then you might try the free program Unlocker on them if you are using a 32-bit Vista. It should be able to get rid if them for you.
