Override IT-Admin Visual settings

Hi,

At my work we all have laptops with Vista Enterprise, and we have Administrator rights on the computer. Still, IT has managed to set the performance settings on the laptops to "best performance" and it does not help to set performance option back to "best appearance" via control panel. Even though I have admin rights.

I am thinking this might be overridden in the registry or something? Any input? I really don't know where to start...

Hi Thomsan,

Although I don't want to guide you in how to circumvent your IT superior's settings, it's probably a setting that has been set in the Local Group Policy Editor.

Thanks, but as there is nothing set there I would think it is a group policy that is retrieved when I logon.

Is there anyway to have these settings overridden by settings locally on the computer / my user?
