I called walmart, bestbuy and tiger direct.
they all say we have to BUY an upgrade.
so I called M$ @ 800-426-9400
I got to s/w a girl 9.5hrs ahead; I'm EDT no offense

She said I too have to BUY an upgrade. I told her to have slick willy and her crew review the web site attached ( sorry Shawn/John ) The guy says it will be FREE!

did I miss something?

I understand that If I want to just upgrade... yea, $50 or $100
But from the statement and past media ( when vistas upgrade from XP on NEW rigs ) and info leaked we should get an upgrade free right?


I'm lost

Not that I can afford a new rig at this time but some can

if you buy a new Vista based pc from tomorrow up until the 31st Jan you will be entitled to a free upgrade to win 7 , at least thats what it looks like , as you said they did the same with XP and Vista
