I get a dialogue box "MSN PHOTO SHOW" That states " The screen saver could not be started" It has no explanation just a OK box to click. This just started I haven't loaded any new software or changed any settings. ??

I don't know if it will help but have you tried a System Restore point just before you lost the ability to use the Screen Saver ?

I'd agree with the above.
Doing a system restore should take you back to a configuration that worked out. Make sure that you keep track of anything that you installed between that restore point and now so you can reinstall them.
