Hey forum,
First post here, I hear this is a great place to come for Vista help so here goes...
I recently completed a new computer and am having trouble with my optical drive (Model LG GH22NS30). The funny thing is I actually installed Vista onto my main HD (also a SATA drive) using the optical drive when I first loaded the computer. The error now is that when I put a disc into the drive Vista doesn't recognize the disc and when I try to access the drive the error message, "Please Insert a disc in drive D:" shows up and the drive ejects.
The drive shows up in device manager. I've tried deleting it and rebooting to let Windows reinstall the drivers and have tried upgrading all the drivers I can find myself. Just to be sure I took the drive out and tested it on another computer and I now know the hardware is working just fine. I've seen other posts on other forums with similar problems but haven't found a solution. Here are the specs on my rig:
BIOSTAR TA790GX 128M
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz
4GB DDR2 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT 512MB
LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R (GH22NS30)... which I hope to soon have working!
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
