Hope someone can help with this! For some reason which I think is related to a registry problem my Vista program installer is not working. I have tried to install several programs and when it gets to the screen entitled "Setup Wizard" showing the progress bar it freezes. When you cancel, it says "Cancelling" and freezes. I tried downloading Installer 4.5 and it won't install. Also the stand alone installer won't install.
This all started when I used a program to remove another program that would not install and I believe it damaged one or more registry entries.
I have a recent complete partition image save and I have restored the files to an external drive. I thought I would just replace the registry with the backed up registry on the external drive but I don't know how to do this as I understand Vista's reg files are in several locations. I do not have any restore points. Any ideas?
