Hi, thanks for great tutorial. I have one problem. On my computer when i'm using S3, my processor 'cooler' still working, and comp consuming 80W on sleep mode. Normal eating approximately 120W.

Maybe my computer is go to S1? Because in command line, on powercfg -a i see that i can use S1 or S3. But in my impecunios BIOS from ASRock i have only one function for S3: Suspend to RAM - disable or auto.

Umm, ok.
Double check to make sure that you have the Power Plan options (step 2 in tutorial) set for the recommended settings for Sleep.

If i'm using USB selective suspend setting as OFF my PC isn't starting. All other i have same. I tried to use dumppo.exe (small program from microsoft), and i convert Min sleep state to S3, but after restart it's still S1. I also go to regedit for manual change Policyoverrides,but i don't see this one in Vista so i can't add function.

Well, Suspend to RAM set as Enabled (auto) is for the S3 state.
Could you list every option, available setting, and what you have it set as in your BIOS Power Management area? Perhaps something will stand out that may help.

Yeah, you can't stop it when it was designed to be like that. I'm not sure I like that or not either.
I'm not sure about that particular model, but I have a Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 board without any S3 problems for sleep, hybrid, or hibernate.

Ok, i tested now my Gigabyte motherboard in newer computer with C2D etc. and my energy meter show 4W in sleep mode. Without any config.
