Solved task bar wont move

hi there folks i am new and need a little help, i understand this might be an old problem for some but this is so annoying me, i have a laptop on vista home basic, the other day my task bar moved to the right of the screen, i have un locked it and tried to drag it back but it wont budge, it stretches left to right but wont go past middle of the screen, i have checked the reg to see the size and tried to make it go back to 0 from (1) this doesnt work. i use selective start up and have reg mech and pctools spy doc i checked and no virus found. the machine is a highgrade 32 bit 1.60 ghz and a gig of ram its a few months old, anyone got any ideas pls

Hello Arranite, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You wouldn't happen to have a program called "Pitaschio", or anything similar, installed that has a setting to lock the taskbar. It overrides the setting in Vista.

If not, then you might see if you can move it in Safe Mode.

hi thanks for reply, not sure of the programme you mean, i went in to safe mode and bar is at the bottom, i opened a new admin user and bar was at bottom, so i managed to do a restore to last week and its went back to the bottom but i think something is moving it but i have managed to lock it, i am not use to vista yet more a xp user, any idea what would steal it or more info on the programme you said.

Arranite, I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted out. It was just a program that was mentioned to have caused a similar problem as yours. I was just covering the bases to see if you did install it. Since you did not, then I wouldn't worry about it. :)
